It might be helpful for all folks to review the
Game Rules page that lays out the point structure. Only the first 5 get points for grid position, and the race ending points are similar to the MotoGP schedule (25,20,16,13,11,10,9,8,etc.). Also, keep in mind that the "captain" rule this year gives double points to whoever is chosen as your team captain. Looking at the points, getting one 1st is worth more than scoring both a 4th and a 5th. If the 1st place rider is your captain, getting 1st is worth more than both 3rd and 4th, even if the 3rd gets double points for captain. Time will tell, but I believe that this is favoring teams with a championship winner and a mid-pack rider, the most expensive one you can get after blowing most of the budget on the rider hopefully finishing 1st or 2nd quite often.
