I wear those TourMaster boots and have no trouble walking around in them. The soles are like office shoes, so you do have some tread, but there isn't a whole lot so hiking in them is tough. However, for just walking into a store or up the street to a shop is no big deal.
Wear socks though, blisters from those boots suck!
