The recomended disposal of motorcycle helmets here is to cut the straps off at the least so nobody else will use it if it's worn out, or you could test to see how well if would have protected your head using a sledge hammer.. Could be fun?
If it's your only spare, keep it for if you ever need to do a two-up.
