Also check yellow three wire connectors for stator. Common source of corrosion and burning due to full-power going through it full-time. There are connector kits for replacing connector, but they use exact same bare brass un-sealed connector as stock, so is temporary fix. Replacement will eventually corrode, overheat and burn through just like original.

Typical permanent solution is cut off connector and solder wires straight across. Tied with western-union/linesman splice, soldered and adhesive shrink-wrap of course.
