Yeah, spray foam has to be done very carefully and you have to shake settle and deal with the pockets that stay behind.

As far as mounting in the new fairing all that would be needed is to fiberglass some long nuts inside the fairing. I have used thinwall PVC to hold a long nut (or any nut IMO) and then I temporarily epoxied in place then glassed aroung and up the PVC pipe. After painting it black it looks factory. For adjustability you can use allthread or longer bolts with extra nuts.
