Good question..... I have not had any problems, but I also don't use it very often since I mainly commute on my bike. The longest I have used it at one time was for a 100 mile ride and a 325 mile ride, but I didn't have a problem that I could notice. The bolt I attached to is connected to the metal rear-view mirror bracket, so I am hoping/expecting it will be enough to support it long-term without stressing the plastic. I do have a ZG db, and don't think it would fit with a stock screen, without sticking out. If you don't already have a db or touring screen, I do recommend one anyways.
