I solved my mount problem without using any adhesive. The first picture below shows (left to right) the RAM solution, the Garmin windshield mount, and the Arkon/RAM solution. The Arkon mini-ball fits the GPS mount very well (tight), even more so than the Garmin windshield mount. The only thing left to do is design a safety retention system (other than the power cord)! The second picture shows the Arkon/RAM combo mount on the bike. You can also see the power cord to the right of the fuel gauge.
