Check out the Michelin pilot road whatevers that they are. There's a bunch of users on here that have them. I recently had a chance to ride them at an easy pace through some twisties in NorCal. They grip pretty well for general sporty riding and return really great mileage from what other users have reported.

What I would do is put a Rosso II on the front for grip and that pilot street whatever on the rear for mileage. Should be a good combo for mix of commuting and fun rides. Would be a shame for you to commute right through a sticky rear and waste money on it more frequently than needed. That's just me though, coming from really limited tire choice on pregen wheels.
