sounds like your pilot circuit is gummed up from gas in the carb bowls from sitting. I would recommend, draining all gas out of your gas tank, drain the gas out of your carb bowls, fill the tank with a gallon of fresh gas and healthy dose of seafoam (3-4 ounces). If you're lucky and the gas hasn't gone so bad that it's hardened and blocked the pilot jets, you may be able to soften up the gummed up crap in the carb bowls with the gas/seafoam mixture which would eliminate the need to remove the carbs.
