Handlebar replacement, suggestions...?

I'm just learning to ride, I was practicing U-turns and dropped the bike going too slow. The right side aluminum bar mount (On the EX250H/ZZR) just snapped at the bolt, the mirror glass was broken too.

Really my fault, cause it was only held on by one bolt to begin with, so with the other bolt probably would have been okay I feel.

It still works, but only one bolt hole now, and the handlebar mount looks pretty jacked up. Somehow I think my road examiner might not be too impressed if they saw that. And it looks like the next time I drop it, it'll snap for good.

What's the best method of replacement without spending much money? What's the consensus about clip-on bars?

If I want to add a through bar with a riser (I've been thinking of turning it into a street fighter) is it absolutely necessary to drill holes, or can you somehow get away without doing it?

How about one like this...?
