I would highly recommend making an arrangement with our Ducatiman to restore the carb to new condition. I'd also recommend sending both of them to him so he can make sure they're both like new. I don't want to speak for him, but I think you'll be happy with the price.
Whatever you do, don't buy a rebuild kit. They're known for aftermarket substitute parts. If you want to give it a go youself, take the bowl off the errant carb and see if the float and/or the float needle is sticking open.
