DHL has become more dominant in low-volume/cost shipments with increased traffic from Chinese direct-sale exporters. I got my 2x Ali mufflers shipped from China to U.S. in 1-week for $35. Not quite as inexpensive as ePacket from Hong Kong, but not outrageous either. I've sent DHL an inquiry for cost to Oakland. Still need to handle getting goods to docks in Indonesia.
The other thing we should be concerned with is CPSC and DOT regulations. May not be concern for us end-users, but may be sticking point for getting it out of customs. Remember, Bill Gate's Porsche 959 sat on the docks for over 10-years while red-tape paperwork was being processed.
