Tachometer Problems

Hi all,
I recently purchased a used 2015 Ninja 300se, and after driving it away my tachometer has been giving me some issues. It does not affect my driving performance or speedo reading, however my tachometer is reading wrong. Upon initial startup, my tachometer will usually bounce up to around 11k and then it jumps down and will get stuck between 6 and 9k. It will stay at this range and act as if it zero (it will return to this range after acceleration). I have tried to tighten down the battery terminals to no avail. I'm not quite sure where the tach connections are and I have heard that this could be a ground issue. If anyone has any ideas or tips let me know.
Thanks a bunch,
Grant Hodgetts
