Near end of season last year, guy blew K&N filter going into turn-14 @ Thunderhill East. This is 105 mph straight with maximum-braking down to 25mph for T14. This causes 5-bike pile-up. Did over $10k damages to an Aprilia RSV4. One guy broke both wrists. Of course guy that sprayed oil on track? He got away with not even a scratch!

Bizarre to me that they aren’t universally banned. When I’m with group that doesn’t ban them, I walk around pits looking at every bike for K&N filters so I can make note to stay clear of them on track.
