Hey guys, new to the Kawasaki life and so far it’s been a ride.. so my girlfriend got her first bike (2001 ex250f) and we have slowly been bringing her to life. After a carb clean and oil change we got her to fire up for a few seconds but had to shut it off because of a loud ticking sound. I’ve tried to search for the problem but came up with many possible answers. Do you think it could be a bad CCT? I tried to clean it but the tensioner shaft does have some scratches so we ordered a new one.

The P/O stated the bike sat around 7 years so I’m wondering if this could have caused the timing chain to stretch?
