So you're not planning on wiring in the solenoid at all? It's just going to leave the cut-off gate flipped up the whole time? Then you don't have distance vision at night.

low beam. Cut-off gate up:

high beam. Solenoid powered and cut-off gate dropped:

You want high beams so you don't outrun your headlight.
