the hole goes in and then around the cylinders. it is either right there at the end of the hole, or worst case, at the front of the motor.
The magnet idea is the best one. Again, worst case you will need to pull the back part of the bike off to get a better shot at the hole. Worse worst case, you pull the cylinder.
