Go for it if you will be on your own bike. By the price I assume you won't be on the schools bikes. One thing to consider is you need to be willing to lay your bike down. It's never anyone's intention to crash, but it does happen. If you're not willing to accept that then you should not be pushing your bike to the level of track riding. If possible pick up some race bodywork prior to the school date. It's well worth the money.
