I got two more additions to my camping/survival pack. I grabbed a SOG Fasthawk. I like it because it is more versatile than a hatchet, yet still a tad lighter. I know weight helps, but when you are carrying it, weight does matter. I'll take a couple of extra swings to save some weight.
I also got a Camillus 13" Carnivore Z machete. I wanted a compact machete. Even when camping, a tiny machete can make jobs easier. Sure the SOG could be used, but that can be overkill for certain situations. I think in total I spent $50 on both.
Can't wait to try them out
