I hated that when I went to Australia. They recognized my US motorcycle endorsement so I didn't have to take the class, but still made me ride a sub 250 for a year before I could get unlimited. (that was back in 1995) I picked up a used XR250 for riding in the desert. Rode that for a year before I picked up an old 1984 GPZ900. Then in 1997 picked up a CBR1100XX Blackbird. That was fun out in the NT with no speed limits. Hear they have changed that now.
