Brake question

I've got the caliper off the front wheel, brake pads to be changed after I clean it, but one of the clips seems to be missing and I'm wondering if it's dangerous to leave it out or if I need to get it replaced (I can't find the right part number or tell how expensive it will be). To the left and right of the pistons is a little piece that protrudes. On the right side, in the picture, is the one that still has its clip. On the left side, it's bare. In pictures of brake replacement, they all have it on both sides.

In one diagram, I found a part number of 92081, but searching for that part number, it brings up a lot of different clips and springs, but nothing that looks like this piece.
