ttd just posted that the Sept 3/4 weekend at Palmer will be run BACKWARDS.
Last time I was up there the staff ran it backwards and Tony stated they'd be doing it in the future. So, during that weekend's track walk I spent a lot of time turning around and scoping out what it would be like.
It's gonna be AWESOME. The sections you'd expect to be sketchy (especially the turn 4/5 complex, which will now be diving turns) are going to be low-speed anyway. What I expect to happen is that the positive-camber bowl (turn 9) will be a fantastic cannon shot, the low point (turn 2) will be a terrific launch up the hill, and turn 1... well, you'll just have to see. Looking backwards it was pretty freakin' amazing.
