Hey guys, so I picked up my 250 less than a week ago and I've had this issue twice. (I'm completely new to riding)

So I'll put my key in the ignition, flip the switch on and press the start button.
The bike will start like normal but then when I try to rev it up while its still in neutral, the engine just cuts off.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong here.

Can someone give me their take on it.

Edit: Also other times I start it, it starts up just fine and I am able to ride it with no problems.
