I think I may have found it Gordon !
the air screws ! I turned the airscrews out 1 turn or there abouts on the right side and the flat spot went away..... I turned the airscrew out 3/4 turn on the left and tried it and
no more flat spot at all.... no complaining at 4~5k RPM at all.....
I guess these carbs don't like 3500+ASL altitude !
.....
not only did it rev up smoothly but it did it several times !
I guess we'll see how it does when it cools down and I start it again.... because this bike has not been consistent lately ! LOL
....
but I think it WORKS !!!
