I run a K&N KA-2508 lifetime filter. Fits perfectly in the OEM box. Clearly better quality than stock, and did let a bit more air through. Was running just a smidge rich and noticed that lean out slightly on install, just as I'd hoped. So, yes, very slight performance improvement. Nothing too big, but I suspect going with the K&N pod filter would do more.
