I currently wear underarmour style cold gear long sleeve shirt, a fleece zip up, and then a wind breaker. On the bottom I have leg warmers, cycling shorts, polar knee warmers, neoprene shoe covers, and wool socks. Also a wicking stocking cap with a wool beanie cap over it and windproof insulated gloves. Its tolerable at 25F but any lower and its hard to keep from having the cold really effect muscle performance.
the really sucky thing is that after a 15-20 mi ride like that, all of it is sweaty and nasty and has to be washed.
