DRY BAGS

OK, OK, stop laughing! We've all needed to keep something dry in our travels, and most of us have discovered that trash bags just aren't durable enough. Dry bags from the bike suppliers are great, but have you ever priced them? 90 to 120 bucks for a 20 liter bag is common. It's a lot of money for something you probably won't use that often. A cheap alternative is a $15 bag of Fresh Step cat litter, just to get the bag. These bags hold approximately 20 to 25 liters. Use the litter or give it to a friend with a cat. (Kitty litter is also good to soak up oil spills.) Keep the bag and rinse out the dust. Made from a good thick plastic with a Ziploc seal, these bags are SUPER TOUGH. They're not easily torn or punctured.
