No not a one way trip. In 1907 he drove that "motorbicycle" to 136.36 M.P.H. at Ormond Beach, Fl. From 1907 to 1911 he was referred to as the "fastest man in the world". He went on to become an aviation pioneer. He competed directly with Orville and Wilber Wright. You may have heard of the Curtiss Wright Aviation Corporation who produced the Curtiss P-40 "Flying Tiger" WWII fighter aircraft.
