I registered for a local ride here in town. It supports a high school band. Since I'm a former band geek, I couldn't resist. So that will be this Saturday. I did a 46 mile ride yesterday, we maxed out at a sustained 22mph for at least 15 minutes, but averaged 17mph with some climbs, headwind, and stops for lights.
The ride this next weekend (April 10) will be a 35 mile ride and relatively flat. I was going to do the 65 mile route, but I wanted a "relaxed" ride before my 2-day, 185 mile, ride to Austin.
Neil, have any more chances to go riding on that fancy new steed?
After that, I'll be training for my first Century ride in North Texas called "Hotter'N Hell Hundred". It is in mid-August. It will be hot, but should be fun.
