I actually think it's not THAT bad.

Obviously, the bike was dropped, but considering it doesn't even have a frame slider, the damage does NOT look severe, it probably wasn't any more than simple parking lot drop.
Same as on the other side too, it doesn't look severe enough to do any major damage.

12,300 miles is nothing on these motor, I've seen Ninja 250 with 100,000 miles and still running like a champ. As long as the previous owner did regular maintenance and stuff, I think it should be fine.

I think $1,500 is a good price but you should do a quick math to see how much it's gonna cost you to fix it up to your standard.

Personally, I would get a Chinese fairing kit on eBay.
