We're talking about sub $2,000 basic bike here...I might be wrong but even for high performance bikes it's a bit rare.

If it was a MV Agusta F4RR or some kind of high value vintage motorcycle, sure send it to $400+ full inspection.

But for something like this? I'd personally test drive it just like OP already did, and maybe rev the engine and see if there's any blue smoke, see if shows sign of rough idle, check the oil, unusual noise, etc.

Yeah like everyone said, maybe the engine will be dead next year, but that's the risk you take when you're buying a used bike.
