It's $1-1.5k bike, and it can be a great deal or may require additional $1k to do engine-swap in 2-months. Sure, that's a relatively cheap repair, but for cost of bike + engine-swap, you can find better bikes out there. The UOA will tell you if it's a good deal or not.
Have you ever sent your potential next bike's engine oil to the lab?
Personally, I haven't. I just test ride it and rev the engine and see if there's any unusual noise and/or symptoms.

No, I wasn't saying that you should voluntarily take unnecessary risk by purposely not checking the condition of bike, but when you buy an used bike, inevitably there's a risk.

Maybe sending the oil sample to the lab is a good idea, I was not trying to say it's a BAD idea, but it would take a long time. But it's up to you obviously.
