My stupid safety gear caused a drop

I finally went down after 7 years of not even a hint of a close call. Went out riding around to get used to my new riding pants + boots and for some reason when I came to a stop my left boot's sole felt like it was completely stuck to the peg and would not budge at all. Down I went doing zero ****ing miles per hour.

The nice lady in a car behind me checked on me and commented oh it's good that your boots protected you. I just looked at her and said "honestly, these boots just caused the drop".

Snapped my left mirror, fairing got scratched in a few spots, stator cover got marked, bar end and the tip of the clutch lever got scratched, that's about everything I think. Yesterday my rear tire got popped while I was on the freeway, now this. My poor little 600

At least I didn't ding up the 250.
