Anybody can make a mistake, veterans or beginner. just so long as you can identify what caused the down and work on it, it's not a waste.
when i ride, i'm constantly doing trial and error. foot placement, sitting placement, if i'm leaning in or sitting straight. none of those variables are a constant. they all depend on the conditions.
