Well i think i may have solved the problem, i believe this is where the regulator should be.

If so, then i will be contacting the guy i bought the bike from.

Lesson learnt, always look a regulator

With the regulator missing, and me driving the bike for about 30mins total did i potentially cause any other damage? say to the alternator? wiring? fuses?
