I use my kill switch every time. I have on all my bikes and all my scooters for years. I have never had one go wrong. The only time I have ever had a kill switch issue was with a gl-500 that I pulled out of a shed after 20 years off the road and all it’s controls were shot. Plus it had one of those old school side to side kill switches not a rocker switch.
So, I don’t think using the switch would be the thing that would worry me. I would worry about not using it and finding out it’s bad when you need it.
