I go to the NY show to get a mid-winter bike fix. Sometimes I buy stuff. I take the opportunity to try on helmets and take notes (only place you can really do that). I always grab a fistful of Progressive bags for grocery shopping.

One year they had the World's Fastest Indian on display. Another year they had the Castrol streamliner that (hopefully) Guy Martin will ride at Bonneville.

And oh yeah... every year Yamaha puts a real MotoGP bike from the prior season on display. Where you can get as close as you like to it. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Since it's held in midtown Manhattan in the dead of winter, test rides don't happen at that show.
