I've shared a parking space with a motorcycle that belonged to a stranger, but it was in the Deals Gap area where there are a lot of motorcycles, and the restaurant parking lot was pretty full.
On the down side, I've heard of motorcyclists getting parking tickets for sharing metered spaces. I think that's really counterproductive.
