Yes, and the beam frames, etc.. I think the racing organization(s) that require double diamond frames made a very poor decision that severely limited innovative engineering work to advance bicycle designs. They claimed that it was to prevent well funded teams from having an advantage, but even if that's true, it was a bad decision, since the less well funded teams would have access to the new technology soon after it was introduced anyway, and everyone would benefit, all the way down to consumers.
