I has been an unusual year for the annual 2-stroke meet. Our usual week in May was postponed because of the stay-at-home order, and was rescheduled for Saturday, August 15th - Saturday, August 22nd. Normally there is a shortage of rooms and some attendees stay at nearby facilities, but this year with all the confusion of rescheduling, there is one room at the Deals Gap resort still available.

I think it's something like $69/night, but don't quote me on that, since we normally get some sort of discount. The neat thing is that we take over the whole motel for the week and have an excellent time. If anyone here is interested in attending, please let me know soon, or the one available room will be returned to the resort to rent to the general public.

It's a 2-stroke meet, but bringing a 2-stroke is not mandatory. There will be lots of blue smoke, but I can tell you from firsthand experience that a Ninja 250 is one of the best motorcycles you can ride on "The Dragon".

Deals Gap is in extreme western NC, and right at the start of The Tail of the Dragon. There is an abundance of excellent riding in the area, including the Cherohala Skyway and the Foothills Parkway, as well as zillions of small, winding roads, and the whole region is motorcycle friendly.

One year one of the guys even brought his 400 hp Shelby Cobra replica. That's me getting ready for a ride.
