Ha - we have been lucky. That was my oldest son's first street bike. PO bought it new for his ex-girlfriend back in '04. She dropped it in the driveway from the looks of it (broken front signal) and never rode it again. We bought it in 2012, not running, with 250 mi and sold it last year.
We paid $750 for it (sorry...). Sold it for $2000 with about 5000 mi, but it had new tires and all maintenance (valve adjustment, carb sync, new fluids, etc) done and not a scratch on it.
