I ride MTB. Trek 4300, few years old. Converted it to 1x9 this year.
Tires upgraded to Panaracer Fire XC Pro
Original crankset swapped for RaceFace single w/ bash.
Front derailleur removed.
Front shifter / cable removed.
Reflectors removed.

...next is to swap for a short cage rear derailleur.
