In the beginning it didn't matter, neither of us had bikes. He got his before we were married, this is one of reason I think we got married...after a few years I got my bike.
My opinion is this, if they love you they will support you no matter what. If they enjoy bikes as well that is a plus, if not they just need to understand you are passionate about riding and be supportive.
