Here are my pics from my '05 Ninja. Looks like the connectors are the same (although I don't remember seeing a tab on the inside end of the female connector):
In this second pic, you can see the back grab bar. Unfortunately I didn't realize I could reach the connector by removing the seat, and had opened up the underside of the rear end. So yes you can see the floor through the rear end!
