I'd say the super cute owl backpack would be fine! I'd probably add some reflective tape somehow to it, but you can get that in any color you like. I'm not sure what shapes but I'm sure it's out there. I need to take some of what came with my rim-tape and add it to my jacket (which doesn't have anything reflective on it).
You could probably get reflective-tape-dots to go inside the little circles which would help make you more visible and not mess up the cute owls.
Me, I have a Kriega 10L tailpack which is black and totally doesn't help visibility but I like it.
