I did not split, just a good soak in carb cleaner overnight, and bushing with carb cleaner, along with replacing all rubber and wear parts, and a dynojet jet kit. Later I vacume synced the carbs. If there was a mod like a taper bore I would entertain the idea (although 30mm carbs is quite big on a 250 already).
