Dovisioso abandons Honda for Tech 3 Yamaha in 2012

Italian shuns offer of factory LCR Honda to sign with Monster Tech 3 YamahaA major piece in the unfolding MotoGP rider/team puzzle for 2012 fell into place as current Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovisioso has decided to forego moving to the LCR Honda satellite team, and apparently announced on various Italian websites that he has agreed to a one-year contract with Herve Poncharal and the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha team, partnering with current rider Cal Crutchlow who is contracted through 2012. HRC has let it be known that there will only be two Repsol Honda riders next year, and with Marco Simoncelli already signing a contract last week to return to the San Carlo Honda Gresini squad with a factory RC213V, Dovisioso felt that HRC was favoring his bushy-haired rival despite Dovisioso currently sitting third in the championship while Simoncelli languishes back in eighth spot.
