checking the valves wasn't an issue with 2k miles but with 7k former owner really didn't give a s**t i guess. you can adjust the clutch lever to where you want the friction zone, and the pre-gens were made to rev up and keep revved up, that was a complaint about them. just rev the bike up KNOWING it loves it before taking off and you won't have anything near a bog down again. the bike bike loves running at 9k rpm+, all day long. 11k rpm @ 90 mph is it's "zone" great luck, hope you can keep up with her when she's an experienced ninja 250 rider, happy trails.
