I'm 5' 0" myself, and while I'm on a pre-gen, I had a similar issue. What I did was get a pair of moto boots with a bit of heel, and learned to stop and hold with one foot on the ground. It's nerve-wracking at first and a bit weird on push-off, but it feels much better and you don't need to do anything but adjust your habits. When you take it in for maintenance, ask about adjusting the suspension as well. It could be dialed up for a heavier rider.
