The sticky convex things should be standard issue on all bikes IMO. They are priceless for keeping tabs on the traffic around you. I had them in the top outside corner and I plan to put another set on the new mirrors when they go on.

i had to attack the mounting hardware from over the top of the fairing where the windshield was, and from under the instrument cluster, now..working on F-4's sorta prepared me for that?...but it's not something i've perfected...contortion-ing i mean
have also considered doing the convex thing since reading these postings also. we have only a single lane of traffic in either direction, and for something like a freeway, i can see how those things could really save on how ya spend your dollar's worth of attention..
